This past February a few friends and I decided to visit New Orleans. It’s been on my bucket list for the longest and I was so excited to finally plan a trip there. I had heard so much about the amazing food, live music, and friendly people that I couldn’t wait to finally experience it myself.
New Orleans definitely exceeded our expectations. From eating delicious beignets to traveling along the marshy bayou, our trip was everything and more. Every morning as we walked toward the French Quarter, we were in awe as we observed all of the colorful homes and vibrant walls. The streets seemed to be buzzing with a euphoric energy that words alone cannot describe. The bright sun and warm air kissed every inch of our skin, making it the perfect weather to wear some of our favorite summer dresses.
Louisiana cuisine is some of the best that I’ve ever experienced. As a vegan, eating out can be quite challenging, so I was pleasantly surprised that restaurants were willing to adjust their menus and were willing to create flavorful dishes just for me. Every restaurant that we visited was so accommodating and had such great customer service.
I’ve shared the names of some of my favorite restaurants and other favorite places below.
Have any of you visited New Orleans? I’d love to hear about some of your favorite restaurants and places.
